67% Lyocell.
Because of its biodegradability, low toxicity, and comfort, lyocell is an excellent material for clothes worn closest to the body. It naturally offers a smooth and drapey hand-feel, excellent breathability, and softness, making it ideal for clothing.
Lyocell is a versatile fiber renowned for its sustainable production process. Made from regenerated wood pulp, typically from fast-growing eucalyptus or birch trees, lyocell is produced through a closed-loop system where water and chemicals are reused in multiple cycles. It is required to keep both water and chemicals in this closed-loop system, ensuring any waste is treated and recycled.
It requires less dye than cotton to achieve the same depth of color, making it a good alternative for a more sustainable practice and when blended with other fibers, lyocell fabric becomes stronger and more resistant to wear, tear, and pilling.
33% Organic cotton.
Grown without the use synthetic pesticides or fertilizers and avoiding the use of harmful chemicals, organic cotton contributes to an overall healthier ecosystem than it’s alternative.
The fibers produced from organic cotton are typically softer, hypoallergenic, and free from chemical residues, making them ideal for sensitive skin and reducing the risk of allergic reactions.
The farming practice of letting the cotton grow more naturally, also means there’s less of it, driving the price up, but with all of the above we have decided that organic cotton makes a more compelling choice over traditionally grown cotton.
